Sophia Varnai (she/her) is a director and writer whose work explores themes such as the relationship between innocence and adolescence, girlhood, neurodivergence, and the tiny fireworks of everyday life. She also recently graduated summa cum laude from Pace University with a degree in directing and creative writing, and was a 2021 production intern at documentary filmmaking company 4th Row Films.​

 

Some of her recent projects include her screenplay Hazel's Summer of Starting Over; short film Friend Zone; The Men's Room, a short play presented in collaboration with The Drama League;The Deep End, a devised play with the Pace University N.O.W. Festival; short film Fish in Murky Water; short film Birthday Girl; and audio series Wannabe, developed in collaboration with Purple Crayon Productions.
